As the name suggests, the Florida Hass avocado is a Hass-derivative variety that is more suited for Florida's climate (but still has high cold tolerance) than the Hass - which is known to be finicky in Florida's climate. It tends to have higher production than the Hass, and the fruits are slightly larger. Unlike the Hass, the skin of Florida Hass avocados remains green when ripe.
The nutty, slightly sweet flavor and creamy texture is quite similar to that of a Hass, and it's a good option for those that prefer a Mexican avocado with high oil content.
