The Simmonds avocado is a large, pear-shaped fruit that stays green when ripe and has smooth, easy-to-peel skin. The flesh, despite its comparatively low oil content, smooth and has a buttery, nutty flavor. Its excellent production and taste combined with its early season fruiting makes the Simmonds a highly popular variety in South Florida.
