Although it is marketed under the name Honey Tangerine, the official name of this sweet fruit is Murcott. The actual origin of the Murcott variety isn’t exactly known, but it is believed to be a cross between a tangerine and a sweet orange.
While shaped like a tangerine, Murcotts are not as easy to peel and do have many seeds. This late season option is a heavy producer; however, it can be alternate bearing.
