The Jabuticaba tree, also known as the "Brazilian Grapetree," produces its fruit directly on its trunk. The trunk is first covered in fuzzy, white flowers, and then the dark fruits, between the size of a grape and a plum, grow in and cover the trunk. Their flavor is sweet, akin to that of a grape. The fruits are commonly eaten fresh or used to make jams and jellies.
