The Kent mango is a staple among Florida's commercial varieties. The fruits have a mild, classic mango flavor and slightly fibrous flesh. The flesh has moderate sweetness, and it have a small amount of spice to it; when they were picked in their ripening process influences their specific flavor notes and qualities.

The trees are large and vigorous, and their height and canopy density makes for a great shade tree.

Due to their large size, Kent mango trees are not considered a good choice for growing in containers.
