About Our Trees

What is the best location to plant a Flame Red Grapefruit Tree?

Choose a planting location that receives at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight each day and has well-draining soil. Proper sunlight, watering, and regular fertilization will encourage healthy growth and abundant fruit production.

Is the Flame Red Grapefruit Tree self-pollinating?

Yes. Flame Red Grapefruit Trees are self-pollinating, so a single tree is capable of producing fruit. Planting multiple citrus trees nearby may help increase pollination activity and improve overall yields.

Can I grow a Flame Red Grapefruit Tree in a container?

Yes. Dwarf and semi-dwarf Flame Red Grapefruit Trees adapt well to container growing. Plant in a large pot with good drainage and move the tree to a protected location during freezing temperatures if you live outside its recommended outdoor growing zone.

How can I protect my tree from citrus greening and pests?

We highly recommend protecting your young trees from Asian psyllids and citrus greening (HLB) with a tree defender. For more information visit: www.thetreedefender.com

Should I mulch around my tree?

Do not pile mulch against the trunk. Excess moisture around the trunk can lead to decline, disease, and possible tree loss.
