Eustis Limequat is a delightful citrus hybrid that combines the refreshing tartness of a lime with the distinctive characteristics of a kumquat. Known for its small, oval-shaped fruit, fragrant blossoms, and attractive evergreen foliage, the Eustis Limequat is an excellent addition to backyard gardens, patios, and container citrus collections.

The Eustis Limequat produces small, juicy fruits that ripen from green to a beautiful yellow. The thin, edible peel has a mild sweetness that balances the fruit's tart, lime-like flesh. Enjoy the fruit whole, slice it into beverages, or use its juice and zest to add a bright citrus flavor to marinades, desserts, sauces, and homemade preserves.

About Our Trees

Can you eat Eustis Limequats with the peel?

Yes! Unlike traditional limes, Eustis Limequats have a thin, edible peel that is mildly sweet. The juicy flesh is tart and tangy, creating a delicious sweet-and-sour combination. They can be eaten whole, sliced into beverages, or used in cooking, baking, and homemade preserves.

When do Eustis Limequat trees produce fruit?

Eustis Limequat trees typically produce fruit from November through March in Florida. The fruit starts green and gradually turns yellow as it matures. Harvest timing may vary depending on weather and growing conditions.

Can I grow an Eustis Limequat tree in a container?

Absolutely! Eustis Limequat trees are excellent for container growing because of their naturally compact growth habit. Plant your tree in a large container with well-draining soil and provide at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Container growing also makes it easier to move your tree into a protected area during freezing temperatures.

How can I protect my tree from citrus greening and pests?

We highly recommend protecting your young trees from Asian psyllids and citrus greening (HLB) with a tree defender. For more information visit: www.thetreedefender.com

Should I mulch around my tree?

Do not pile mulch against the trunk. Excess moisture around the trunk can lead to decline, disease, and possible tree loss.
