Native to the Caribbean as well as Central and South America, the Barbados Cherry, also called the "Acerola Cherry," is a small, shrub-like tree that produces delicious cherries. Blooming periodically from late-spring to late-summer, the abundant flowers make way for, when ripe, deep-red cherries that have a unique, sweet-tart flavor.
