The lime that’s not a lime! Really belonging in the mandarin family, the Rangpur lime is a cross between a mandarin and a lemon. Native to India, this powerful little fruit along with its leaves can be used in the kitchen. The flesh is very acidic and bitter, with a deep honeysuckle aroma.
Rangpur lime trees make fantastic ornamental container trees due to their compact size, bright orange fruit and white and purple tinged blossoms. It will start producing early and it’s heavy bearing with a long season.
