Originating in the Middle East, the Sweet Lime is known also as 'Palestine Lime' or 'Indian Lime'. The rind is thin, and it begins turning to a yellow-orange color when ripened.

Not a true lime, the fruit has a unique, sweet flavor due to its comparatively low acidity, and its medicinal properties are used worldwide to treat ailments such as nausea, fever, and sore throats.
