About Our Trees

Does the HoneyBell (Minneola Tangelo) Tree require another tree for pollination?

While HoneyBell trees are capable of producing fruit, planting them near compatible citrus varieties can improve pollination and may result in larger harvests. Many home gardeners choose to plant them alongside other citrus trees for optimal production.

How should I care for a HoneyBell Tree after planting?

For healthy growth and reliable fruit production, water your HoneyBell Tree consistently while it becomes established, apply a citrus-specific fertilizer during the growing season, and prune only as needed to remove damaged or crossing branches. Proper care will help your tree remain healthy and productive for years to come.

Can I grow a HoneyBell Tree in a container?

Yes. Dwarf and semi-dwarf HoneyBell Trees are excellent candidates for container growing. Choose a large pot with good drainage and place it in a location that receives at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight each day.

How can I protect my tree from citrus greening and pests?

We highly recommend protecting your young trees from Asian psyllids and citrus greening (HLB) with a tree defender. For more information visit: www.thetreedefender.com

Should I mulch around my tree?

Do not pile mulch against the trunk. Excess moisture around the trunk can lead to decline, disease, and possible tree loss.
