About Our Trees

Is the Hamlin Orange Tree self-pollinating?

Yes. Hamlin Orange Trees are self-pollinating, so a single tree can produce fruit without another citrus tree nearby. Planting additional citrus trees may help increase pollinator activity and overall fruit production.

What is the best way to keep a Hamlin Orange Tree healthy?

Plant your Hamlin Orange Tree in a sunny location with well-draining soil, water consistently while it becomes established, and fertilize regularly with a citrus-specific fertilizer. Routine pruning and seasonal care will encourage vigorous growth and reliable harvests year after year.

Can I grow a Hamlin Orange Tree in a container?

Yes. Dwarf and semi-dwarf Hamlin Orange Trees grow well in large containers with proper drainage. Container growing is an excellent option for patios or for gardeners who need to move their trees indoors during freezing weather.

How can I protect my tree from citrus greening and pests?

We highly recommend protecting your young trees from Asian psyllids and citrus greening (HLB) with a tree defender. For more information visit: www.thetreedefender.com

Should I mulch around my tree?

Do not pile mulch against the trunk. Excess moisture around the trunk can lead to decline, disease, and possible tree loss.
